Is stephan jenkins gay

There aren’t many musicians I can speak I’ve wanted to date for the majority of my life. Probably just two… Taylor Hanson and Stephan Jenkins. So when Noisey asked me to go on a date with Stephan, obviously I graciously accepted, or squealed with joy, equal thing.
I was ten years old when Third Eye Blind’s debut record was released and became an obvious classic for any kid of the 90s. I remember getting my dad to drive me to Blockbuster (remember when they sold CDs?) to pick it up and then pay for it because I was ten and ten-year-olds don’t have any money (thanks, Dad!). I sat in my room with my boom box listening to “God of Wine” on repeat like any typical 10-year-old, wondering what Stephan was doing. In my adolescent world of pop music, Stephan was the first real rock guy that had entered my music sphere.
Almost 20 years and five albums later, 3EB’s never authorize me down, especially with their latest release, Dopamine, which is quickly climbing its way up my end-of-the-year list. I tried difficult to come up with intelligent and inquisitive questions that would spark thoughtful and continuous conversation between us, but then I got distracted by
THIRD EYE BLIND: Two Semi-Charmed Hours With Stephan Jenkins
The Third Eye Blind frontman dishes on the band’s next album, trolling Republicans, and becoming ‘a whole person.’

Interviewing Stephan Jenkins is favor herding cats or trying to fetch my very untrained dog Mischa to do a trick. He evades questions, changes the subject, gets easily distracted, and takes minutes to finish sentences, often using as many as a dozen adjectives to describe one thing.
“This isn’t really an interview,” Jenkins tells me shortly after we meet up. “We’re just chit-chatting.”
It’s a little after 5 p.m. in the middle of the week, and we’re sitting on the patio at Zeitgeist, a metal bar in the Mission, because that’s where the Third Eye Blind frontman suggested we go.
For more than two hours we remain there, facing each other while seated on the alike bench — because the din from the crowd and the live thrash band is so loud that our knees have to be touching for us to catch one another.
“I experience self-conscious,” Jenkins complains, after I question him to contain my recorder closer to his mouth so that it picks up what he’s saying. “I feel like, ‘Is this really what my voice
This year marks the 20th anniversary of one of alt-rockers Third Eye Blind’s most beloved and significant singles, “Jumper,” a lyric that is as relevant as when it came out, if not more. In an era when mental health, suicide, LGBTQ rights, and bullying are hot topics, the ballad continues to connect with listeners of all ages.
Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment backstage at New Orleans’s Voodoo Music + Arts Exposure before performing “Jumper” and other hits for a crazed crowd, 3EB frontman Stephan Jenkins recalls the inspiration behind the thick track. “It’s really fond of what I would possess said to a acquaintance who jumped off the Coronado bridge and killed himself because he was gay in high institution, and he chose that over being subjected to bullying,” he says.
Over the past 20 years, however, “Jumper” — originally written as a “noir, talking from after death,” with Jenkins pleading, “I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend” — has become a positive, crowd-rousing anthem. “The message of the song is to suggest that we own more understanding available for each other than we might give each other credit for,” Jenkins explains. “It says, ‘I would understand,’ and that
