Addicted to gay sex

Overthepast year, I had several conversations about sexual compulsivity. Collecting background information for Sexed, a novel about sex addiction, I learned that the problem, in various interpretations, is a serious affect for many same-sex attracted men.

It doesn't help that the subject, which is insufficiently researched and often filtered through idiosyncratic beliefs, is controversial and confusing.

Depending on who's talking, sex addiction takes on other definitions and meanings: excuse for the adulterer, perversion for the righteous, sin for the preachers, deficient impulse rule for the psychiatrist, joke for the friend, defense for the celebrity, hypersexuality in action for the therapist, and so on.

The truth is that the broad notion of addiction changes over time, based on acquired facts and developing attitudes and norms. As a growing body of scientific evidence reframes the sense of behavioral and process addictions (gambling, overeating, Internet utilize, sex, etc.), researchers and laypersons alike obtain much-needed clarity. The focus should then shift on what's truly important: the meaning of the condition to afflicted men and women.

Parkinson's Patient Wins Lawsuit Over Queer Sex Addiction

Nov. 29, 2012— -- A French man who claimed a Parkinson's drug turned him into a gambling and same-sex attracted sex addict has been awarded 197,000 euros in damages, the French Press Agency reported.

Didier Jambart, 52, of Nantes, France, sued the pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline in 2011, claiming the drug, Requip, caused him to lose 82,000 euros gambling on the Internet. He said he also became addicted to gay sex and risky sexual encounters. He said he was raped after starting the drug in 2003 and attempted suicide eight times.

"It's a great day," Jambart, who was accompanied by his wife during the emotional ruling, told the French Press Agency. "It's been a seven-year battle with our limited means for recognition of the fact that GSK lied to us and shattered our lives."

Parkinson's disease destroys neurons thick within the brain that let go the "feel-good" neurotransmitter dopamine. Requip belongs to a class of drugs called dopamine agonists that relieve Parkinson's symptoms -- such as shaking, stiffness, slowness and trouble balancing -- by activating dopamine re

Gay male sex addicts are not compulsively sexual because of their sexual orientation. Rather, they are compulsively sexual in response to their individual emotional/psychological issues and/or their biological predisposition towards addiction. These are similar reasons why heterosexual male sex addicts are compulsively sexual. In other words, sexual orientation and sexual addiction are unrelated.

In truth, heterosexual male sex addicts tend to perform out in similar ways as gay sex addicts. They do so in slightly different settings, and they choose women rather than men to watch at and/or hook up with. For example, lgbtq+ male sex addicts utilize Grindr and Scruff to locate sex partners, whereas heterosexual male sex addicts use Blender and Ashley Madison. Gay and vertical pornography addicts also perform out in similar ways, “losing themselves” in a seemingly endless array of increasingly accessible and affordable graphic imagery. And, male lover or straight, the objective is generally the s

When Straight Men are Addicted to Same-sex attracted Sex

I have heard from any number of women who are understandably shocked and confused to find out that the man they are seeing or married to has been having sexual experiences with other men. Sometimes it is in the form of actual sexual encounters in various situations and sometimes it is only in the context of cybersex experiences. These are situations in which the relationship had previously seemed fancy a normal heterosexual one. Often it is confusing to the man as well who feels he cares for and is genuinely attracted to his female partner.

Straight men who are interested in gay sex are not at all uncommon. Investigate conducted by okcupid.com found that 13% of straight men have had queer sexual experiences and another 5% contain not but would like to. Their report maps out the concentrations of gay curious men across the Merged States and Canada showing some absorbing results.

So there are a number of ways clinicians can think about this type of situation.

Some believe that the fact that the man is having sexual experiences with men indicates the possibility that he is covertly homosexual and is in need of support to overcome his shame and arrive out.
