"We're Belchers, from the womb to the tomb!"

Big Bob: You got elated kids. Weird, delighted kids. That's agreeable. You're a great dad, Junior.

A somewhat idiosyncratic but lovable family who runs the titular family restaurant.

  • Aesop Amnesia: In general, none of the Belchers are good at retaining lessons and persist to make the same mistakes over and over.
    • Linda keeps going out of her way to help Gayle even after she learns it'd be better not to baby her.
    • Tina continuously tries to win over Jimmy Jr. no matter how many times she decides to move on from him.

When Bob’s Burgers first began airing back in 2011, it was a pleasant surprise. A recent Fox animated show that not only wasn’t horrible, but managed to actually be funny and have a great deal of heart. In hindsight, that shouldn’t have been too much of a surprise, as series’ author Loren Bouchard had previously helped create Home Movies, one of the funniest, earnest and underappreciated adult animated shows of all time. At the start of its eighth season, Bob’s Burgers is nothing short of a phenomenon. A critical darling with a massively devoted fanbase, the show has hit that kind spot all animated sitcoms own dreamt of reaching since the early Simpsons first showed the way.

I would argue that the success of the show is largely due to its center on strong character-based humor. Most sitcoms, animated or otherwise, look after to use their characters as vehicles for whatever joke is wanted, rather than letting the jokes emerge from the characters themselves. Not to beat up on Family Guy too much, but it IS the classic example of a bad gags-over-character show. Can you define Peter Griffin’s character in a concrete way other than “dumb plump guy”? He has no specific dreams, hobbies, int

Since it’s Bi Visibility Week, it’s worth taking time to note some important attracted to both genders characters on television today. Bob’s Burgers is a show that includes LGBT characters in a way that is normalizing and accepting, and there are definitely more than a couple of characters on this show who are queer.

Bob Belcher himself is definitely one of these characters, and there are others who have been confirmed to be on the bisexual spectrum as well as those who likely could be. Here are ten characters from Bob’s Burgers that could be bisexual.

      10. ZEKE

A thing that many bisexual people can relate to is not knowing their sexuality when they are kids. While this isn’t true for everyone, the way our identity makes it so that bisexuality isn’t as talked about. While there isn’t any explicit proof of Zeke’s sexuality in Bob's Burgers, the way he seems really invested in Jimmy Jr. gives some indication.

He loves to wrestle with Jimmy Jr., and the two are quite obsessed with friendship. While they could just

      Is Gene Belcher LGBT?

While Louise has no problem calling herself and acting appreciate one of the boys and Bob is canonically bisexual person, the only really regular LGBT in-canon text comes from the recurring background character of Marshmallow, who is implied to be gender diverse. Yet, a seemingly recurring joke is Gene Belcher either acting or dressing like a lady. My first couple of times watching through, I just kind of noticed the LGBT implications with Gene, but as I was watching the demonstrate recently, it sort of dawned on me just how much of a recurring joke this was that made want to leave back through the entire show and write down all of the LGBT lines and moments with Gene.

“Torpedo” Gene: I’m a top! Bob: You signify you’re on superior. Gene: No, I’m A top!

“Bad Tina” Louise: You ruined her, Mom. Moment to focus on your good daughter. Gene. Gene: I’m pretty.

“Bob Fires the Kids” Gene: We’re working girls now! Micky: You’re a girl? Gene: Yes! Micky: Nah. Gene: Yes! Bob: He’s not. Micky: He’s not? Bob: No. Gene: Tell that to my vagina!

“Mutiny on the Windbreaker” Linda and Tina fantasize about organism in the nude drawing scene from Titanic Louise fantasizes about watching the
