Hats off to Washington state where, recently, hundreds of lgbtq+ couples were legally married. I am elated as much as I am frustrated by why this country refuses to wake up and smell the 14th Amendment of the Constitution. I feel for everyone who wanted to get married for so long and were made to feel so awful about who they are. I undergo worse for all the Americans in the large number of remaining states still waiting for their turn to enjoy the freedoms and protections bestowed upon them by their very citizenship.
There is still a long way to go. Marriage equality is a word so ridiculous on its face that when you perceive it mentioned, you would think you were in Riyadh. Years from now, perhaps we can lose the equality part, the queer part and dial it what it is — marriage. As much as the homophobes, an ever-thinning herd, whines and screeches, the earth is shifting underneath their feet and things are getting better all the time

HENRY ROLLINS Says He Doesn't Mind Existence Teased About His Sexuality
In a recent interview with Windy City Media Collective (Chicago's source for gay news, gossip, entertainment, viewpoints, and gay business concerns),punk rock icon Henry Rollins travelled through his early years to the challenge that resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., and everything in between, while providing a moment of clarity in an otherwise chaotic society. Several excerpts from the interview follow:
Windy City Media Group: There's a story about when you were in elevated school and a gay kid was taunted by the other students and at one direct by a lecturer. What advice perform you have for the kids that don’t live in progressive areas?
Henry Rollins: "That's a good question. It's easy to realize that being homosexual is nothing alternative than being unbent. It's just the way it turns out and that looks good on paper but when you really fetch to it, there's no way it's going to be that simple. I have to ponder there are some absolutely heartbreaking stories out there. What to do? Henry Rollins has become an outspoken human rights activist, most vocally for gay rights. Rollins frequently speaks out on social justice on his spoken word tours and promotes equality, regardless of sexuality. He was the host of the WedRock benefit concert, which raised money for a pro-gay-marriage organization.
In a 1992 Los Angeles Times interview Rollins revealed he kept a plastic container full of soil soaked with Cole's blood. Rollins said "I dug up all the earth where his chief fell — he was shot in the tackle — and I've got all the dirt here, and so Joe Cole's in the house. I say good morning to him every day. I got his phone, too, so I got a direct line to him. So that feels good."
A book of Cole's unhurried writings, primarily tour journals, was published posthumously entitled Planet Joe. Henry Rollins went on to contain Cole's story in his spoken word performances.
