A message from Mayor Kahlil Seren

The city of Cleveland Heights will be closed on June 20th, 2022, in observance of Autonomy Day. This year, I introduced and City Council passed an amendment of our wage and salary ordinance making Juneteenth an official holiday in Cleveland Heights.

For those who may be unfamiliar, Juneteenth, or Liberty Day, is renowned every year on June 19th, the anniversary of the news of emancipation reaching the last enslaved people of African decent in this country. My ancestors and my wife’s ancestors were slaves. Growing up, I was immersed in a cultural richness that honored them and carried on their traditions. I played African drums and performed at Karamu Property, the oldest producing African American Theatre in the nation. The food we ate, the clothing we wore helped me stay linked to an individuality that slavery often ripped away.

Having been educated about my family’s history in this country and staying very alert that the struggles are not over is a part of my reflection during the month of June. While I am fortunate to have vital close family connections to the LGBTQ community, June also includes celebrating my Blackn

Join us for a vibrant celebration of love, self, and community at Cleveland Heights Pride 2025!

โœจ Daytime at Cain Park (12–4 PM)
At Cain Park, from noon to 4 PM, the Alma Theater stage will movie performers, activities, speakers, a resource fair, food vendors, and cosmos for our LGBTQI brothers and sisters to express and connect.

City of Cleveland Announces Road Closures and Parking for Identity in the CLE

Friday, June 6, 2025 โ€” Cleveland โ€” The Urban area of Cleveland is proud to honor the 10th Identity festival in the CLE on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. Organized by the LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland and held in downtown Cleveland, Pride in the CLE features a march followed by an all-day festival celebrating the cityโ€™s vibrant LGBTQIA+ community. The rally and festival are FREE and unseal to all.

The Municipality of Cleveland announced road closures and parking information for Pride in the CLE. Information is subject to convert based on real-time information as vehicular and pedestrian traffic evolves. All closure times are approximate and can be adjusted as needed by the Cleveland Division of Police Bureau of Traffic. All decisions are made with universal safety top of mind. As always, exercise caution, and if you watch something, please utter something. For emergencies, call 911. The Cleveland Police non-emergency number is 216-621-1234.
